How do we get started?

What industries do you work with?
I specialize in small sized tech driven businesses. SaaS, marketplaces, specialty retail, and local businesses. If you're building software, have a website, or sending email, we can probably work together.
What’s the difference between Fractional CTO and your Development Retainer?
Fractional CTO is strategy and implementation focused. Leadership, architecture, hiring, roadmaps, and hands-on development. I will help your team succeed with their technical needs whether it's with guidance, code review, or writing code myself, and a mix of all of that. Your success is my success.
The Development and Analysis retains is for hands-on programing and analysis, ideal when you already know what needs to be built, or have an existing stack that needs support, features added, or someone who can diagnose obscure tech issues with the software you handle.
How is billing handled?
Flat monthly retainers are billed at the start of each month, and due by the beginning of the next month. Ad-hoc development is billed hourly, but varies by project scope. Most small projects are billed hourly (15 minute increments) with a partial deposit to start. Larger projects may be incrementally billed. If we've worked together in the past, deposits and in-progress billing may be waived.
Can I pause or cancel anytime?
Retainers are month-to-month unless we agree otherwise. A 14 day cancellation notice is necessary.
Do you work with multiple clients at once?
I do. I cap my client load for retainer-based work to ensure each project gets the time, attention, and care that it deserves. I will also not work with 2 competing clients. If you're a niched local business with a retainer, I won't work with another of the same niche in your market. I don't feel right working against myself.
What if I need more hours one month?
I offer flexible scaling options, either a one-time hourly add-on (with discounted rates for retainers) or upgrade to a higher-tier retainer. I'm passionate about the work I provide and flexible when working with the right people.
